We have a total of 20 members who have applied to take 22 certification exams this summer. 9 HB testings; 10 C3 tests and 3 B tests.

Reminder about rallies and ratings!

Opening date for C-eventing rally is May 1^st, and all other rallies open May 8^th so you should have plenty of time to get your club/RC certifications done prior to those dates. Remember, the candidates must have completed the certification BEFORE the opening date in order to compete at the higher level.

There is an error in the overall schedule on the General Fact Sheet for all rallies. The dates listed are incorrect. We apologize for any confusion – the information is correct on the individual rally fact sheets and the summary is below:

TET is June 16 -17

Show Jumping is June 19-20

D1 and D2/D3 Combined Test is June 20-21

D2/D3 Eventing Rally is June 20-22

C-eventing is June 22-24

Polocrosse Rally 2012: Calling all Polocrosse players!!!

Now is the time to get your entry packets in for the 2012 Polocrosse Rally to be held on May 12^th at the east Tennessee Polo Fields in Knoxville, TN. The information and entry forms can be found on the Midsouth website. Polocrosse Entry Information **Entries must be RECEIVED by April 28^th**

We have a Walk-Trot division and a Novice (canter division) as well as the upper levels, plus the polo fields in Knoxville are nicer than the fields played on at champs in Kentucky!

Games Rally 2012:

Saturday, March 24^th was a glorious spring day in Kentucky. It was the best weather for Games Rally EVER!!! Check the Midsouth website for results. Everyone who came had a marvelous time!

Dressage Rally 2012:

Sunday, April 15^th was another glorious spring day in Tennessee. We had 11 teams competing in Dressage Rally (last year we had 11 riders…..) and Percy Werner Park was a beautiful place to hold the event. Check the Midsouth website for results. We look forward to making this a tradition!

Regional copies of Membership forms and payment of regional dues:

I’m not always getting regional membership dues with copies of the paperwork for new members. Sending reminders to DC/RCAs and treasurers doesn’t always result in a check, either. The regional dues are $20 for a new member; $25 for a late renewing member; and $30 prorated for a new member joining September 1^st or later.

Checks should be sent to me along with the copy of the membership application. I promise to forward it to Sharon Leonard within a week or two. I promise… J

DC/CA Digest and background checks:

It’s time for club Treasurers to do the background checks. Please see that gets done in a timely manner. All treasurers should be on the USPC Treasurer Digest, also. The digest has a lot of good information that should be very helpful for the treasurers (and the DCs).

MSPC Officers Digest:

We’ve sent several messages about joining this group, and still have quite a few who have not joined. If a request is sent to me asking for help finding members for a composite rally team, I will send you back the instructions on how to join the Yahoo Group so you can post the message yourself. Not intending to be rude or disrespectful, but with a way to directly communicate with every leader in the region, why not take advantage of it?

New e-mail address:

You are all aware that my Yahoo e-mail account was hacked in late February. Thank you for all the concern shown about my family and I being stranded in Madrid and needing financial help, while we were actually home in southern Indiana. Please, if you ever see that message from anyone, do not respond. It is a hoax.
Since then, not all e-mail messages sent to me have reached my inbox. I have a new e-mail address beckylogsdon02@gmail.com but the Yahoo account is still open for a while. If you have been waiting for a reply from a message sent to my yahoo.com address, please send it again to the new address. I check e-mail at least twice a day when I’m home, so there should never be any reason why you don’t get a response back from me within a day or two.

Facebook groups:

Several clubs use Facebook as a means to communicate with members and volunteers and it’s a lovely way to share information and pictures. If your club or riding center does this, and I’m not already included, I would really appreciate being included in the group. I’ve known so many of the members for so many years and seeing the photos of them outside of competition venues (i.e. the barn aisles!) is really a lot of fun and keeps me current on their horses and achievements.
