This is your MidSouth Games Rally entry packet.  This rally is a one-day competition, which is being organized in accordance with the “USPC Rules for Games Rally 2009”, the “USPC Horse Management Rulebook” and the Annual Spring Newsletters for Horse Management and Games. Stalls for Friday evening are included in the rally cost. Please be sure all forms are complete before sending entries and remember, all competitor ages are as of Jan. 1, 2012 and all ratings are as of the Opening Date for the rally (in accordance with USPC and Regional Policies).

Divisions:

Walk-Trot-Designed for beginner riders. Must have an older PCer (C Rating) to assist team. Division not eligible for Championships. Rider must be 12 years old or less.

Junior-All members must be 10- 12 years of age  and at least a D/2 rating. Division eligible for championships.

Senior-All members must be 13- 15 years of age. Any 15 year old must be a C/1 minimum rating. Any 13 or 14 year old must be a D/3 minimum rating. Division eligible for Championships.

Advanced-Members are 16-18 years old and must have a minimum C/1 rating. Division eligible for Championships

All teams must have no less than 4 and no more than 5 riders.  One member of each team is to be designated as Captain. Composite teams will be formed if possible from Midsouth entries.

No tackrooms are to be set up before the start of rally on March 24.

Entry fees:  $85 per member-to be paid with a club check made payable to Midsouth Region. Entries must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2012.   Incomplete entries will be returned. Late entries must include a $25 late fee for each rider.

Required Clothing: Jodpurs (with foot elastic) or breeches, White shirts with sleeves and collar (typically polos). ASTM/SEI Helmets (any color but white-use helmet cover if needed) and acceptable footwear. See rulebook for more information. Each team must provide a white helmet cover or wide, white band to be used by the final rider in each race. Pinnies are worn over polos with rider number at least 6 inches tall. See rulebook for more info.  Collared jerseys may be worn in lieu of pinnies with numbers. All competitors must be wearing armbands with a 2012 USPC medical release form inside at all times during rally.  Chaperones are no longer to carry medical releases. NOTE: At Championships 2012 regional pinnies will be provided and is required wear for competitors.

Chaperones: must accompany each team. Chaperones must be on grounds at all times during the rally. Chaperones must read and sign a Chaperone Form which is to be returned with the team entry packet. Chaperones are responsible for keeping and administering Pony Clubbers’ medications.

Team Awards: will be given for all placings in games and horse management.

Stalls: will be available on Friday night for those arriving early. Entry fee does NOT include bedding. Each team will be assigned one stall plus a tack stall. Baled shavings will be available by ordering ahead

Horses: must have a negative coggins test dated after March 24, 2011 included in the entry packet. All out-of-state horses must be accompanied by a certificate of veterinary inspection or health certificate issued within 30 days of the rally. In-state horses must have a current health certificate. (valid for 1 year) The following weight restrictions apply to riders ‘dressed and ready to ride’:

Any rider over 117 lbs. may not ride a pony 12.2 hands or under

Any rider over 150 lbs may not ride a pony 13.2 hands or under

Any rider over 190 lbs may not ride a pony 14.2 hands or under

Weight and measurements will be checked as a part of jog out procedures.

Volunteers:  are a vital part of games rally. Each team is required to provide at least 2 volunteers (or more if possible.) No experience is necessary. We have scribe positions, lane judges, equipment crew and more to fill. We cannot run the rally without volunteers. Please be sure to wear appropriate footwear for being around horses.

Food:  Not available on the grounds so be prepared to provide for your team.

Rally schedule will be determined and sent out soon. Games to be played at rally will be selected from the list of games to be played at Championships 2012. This list will be determined at the USPC Annual Meeting in January and will be in the spring newsletter and on the website at ponyclub.org at the conclusion of the meeting. We will also try to get it out to you very soon. Competition will include a multiple choice written test over Games and HM rulebooks (incl. addenda).

2011 Midsouth Region Annual Meeting

The 2011 Midsouth Region Annual Meeting will be held November 12th at the farm of Robin LeMastus in Goshen, KY.

We are looking forward to some fun, education and networking!

The “Leadership Training Workshop” will begin at 1pm.  The Regional Council Meeting will begin at 6:30 pm and end at 8:30pm.  Morning
activities and lunch are optional. Workshop and Meeting are not … :-)  Dinner will be provided (free of charge) for 2 persons per club/rc.

‘Revised’ sign-up information and Agendas for the both Workshop and AM are attached (and also posted on the regional website).
Sign -up information revised to include the following:  ”Midsouth will reimburse clubs/rcs for one night’s motel room at the
Best Western Ashbury Inn in LaGrange, KY for either Friday or Saturday night (your choice).  Reimbursement forms will be available at the conclusion of the Council Meeting.”

Midsouth 2011 Polocrosse Rally

Attached is the 2011 Polocrosse Entry Packet and the Activity and Rally Release Form.  The Rally will be held in conjunction with an American Polocrosse Tournament in Harvest, AL.  This is the first time we have presented a polocrosse rally in this format.  The facility and hosts of this tournament are WONDERFUL and I know all participants will have a super time.  Rally participants will have to submit rally entry forms as well as enter the tournament via an on-line sign-up process.  All is explained in detail herein.
